INVISIBLE CITIES

Invisible Cities is a street theatre performance inspired by Italo Calvino’s novel.

Six tall poles are used to create the “stage”. The performers climb on the poles and search for, discover and create scenes of everyday life one could come across in imaginary cities.

Throughout the performance, the audience is taken into a journey in different imaginary cities: contemporary cities, where the poles are being transformed into small apartments; water cities in which the water runs from one pole to the other; mechanical cities with a futuristic environment; unfolding cities, in which each city comes out of the other.

The performance came into being out of our will to create a spectacle that would comment on the nature of contemporary cities, emphasizing on the human aspect of them and would be at the same time amusing and accessible for large and different audiences.
